Juggling life...and passion

I went to a writing conference last weekend (GenreCon), and one of the questions I had was how can a working parent, with a full-time job and after-school commitments find time to write?
I used to think it was impossible, and last year this was something I really struggled with.
After going to this conference, as well as doing a work-related EA/PA course last month, I have adjusted my mindset a little, to try and accommodate all aspects of my life, including my passion - writing novels.
I am now writing at least 3000 words a day - a small amount compared to some writers, but a major achievement for me, considering I am juggling a full-time job, 2 young children, building a house, and helping to look after a family farm/elderly parents.
How am I doing this?
I have committed myself to 3 x 30 minutes bursts a day. That's 30 minutes that I set a timer and write not stop until it goes off.
I do this before work, during my lunch break, and when I knock off from work (WFH).
That way, I am guaranteed at least 1.5 hours a day to work on my novel. And if time permits, I try and do some before bed (but usually this is my 'Netflix' time).
It might not sound like much, but to be able to do 3000 words a day without affecting my work, home life, and children's activities, I feel like I am still working towards what I am passionate about. Writing novels that connect with people.
